ABOUT THE FOUNDER
Jaco van der Westhuizen founded Élégante Academy of Arts in 2022 and continues to build a strong dance culture in our community through training, choreography, and performance.
Jaco danced for Step2Dream Dance Academy in Secunda from 2014 to 2022 and performed in multiple studio productions, including I AM ENDURANCE. He represented his studio in Croatia at the Dance Star World Finals in 2016.
He completed teacher training in 2021 at Solo Danca Latina across 14 styles, continued with Danslyn, and appeared on television under the mentorship of Angelique Gerber. He also auditioned for Afrikaans Is Groot and Krone.
Jaco choreographed and acted in short films for Speeltoneel under the mentorship of Izak Davel. In 2025, he appeared in a music video for Armand Joubert and produced his second school concert.

TRAINING & TEACHING
